a Speech

議長先生:

我比任何人更欽佩議會証上發言的先生們的愛國(按:不是愛黨)情操和才能. 但是, 對同一事物的看法往往因人而異. 因此, 儘管我的觀點與他們截然不同, 我還是要毫無保留地, 自由地予以闡述, 並且希望不要因此而被視為是對先生們的不敬.現在不是講客氣話的時候, 擺在議會代表們面前的問題關係到國家的存亡. 我認為, 這是關係到享受自由還是遭受奴役的大問題, 而且正由於它事關重大, 我們的辯論必須做到各抒己見. 只有這樣, 我們才有可能弄清真相, 才能不辜負上帝和國家賦予我們的重任. 在這種時刻, 如果怕冒犯別人而沉默不語, 我認為就是叛國, 就是對比世間所有君主更為神聖的上帝的不忠.

議長先生, 對希望抱有幻覺是人的天性. 我們容易流於閉起眼睛不願正視痛苦的現實, 並傾聽海妖惑人的歌聲, 讓她把我們化作禽獸. 在為自己而艱苦卓絕的鬥爭中, 這難道是有理智的人的作為嗎? 難道我們願意成為一個對於獲得自由這樣休戚相關的事卻視而不見, 充耳不聞的人嗎? 對我來說, 無論在精神上有多麼痛苦, 我仍然願意了解全部事實, 真相和最壞的事態, 並為它做好充分的準備.

我只有一盞指路明燈,那就是經驗之燈。除了過去的經驗,我沒有什麼別的方法可以判斷未來。而依據過去的經驗,我倒希望知道,10年來英國政府的所作所為,憑什麼足以使各位先生有理由滿懷希望,並欣然用來安慰自己和議會難道就是最近接受我們請願時的那種狡詐的微笑嗎?不要相信這種微笑,先生,事實已經證明它是你們腳邊的陷階。不要被人家的親吻出賣吧!請你們自問,接受我們請願時的和氣親善和遍布我們海陸疆域的大規模備戰如何能夠相稱?難道出於對我們的愛護與和解,有必要動用戰艦和軍隊嗎?難道我們流露過決不和解的願望,以至為了贏回我們的愛,而必須訴諸武力嗎?我們不要再欺騙自己了,先生。這些都是戰爭和征服的工具,是國王采取的最後論辯手殷。我要請問先生們,這些戰爭部署如果不是為了迫使我們就範,那又意味著什麼?哪位先生能夠指出有其他動機?難道在世界的這一角,還有別的敵人值得大不列顛如此興師動眾,集結起龐大的海陸武裝嗎?不,先生們,沒有任何敵人了。一切都是針對我們的,而不是別人。

他們是派來給我們套緊那條由英國政府長期以來鑄造的鎖鏈的。我們應該如何進行抵抗呢?還靠辯論嗎?先生,我們已經辯論了10年了。難道還有什麼新的御敵之策嗎?沒有了。我們已經從各方面經過了考慮,但一切都是枉然。難道我們還要苦苦哀告,卑詞乞求嗎?難道我們還有什麼更好盼策略沒有使用過嗎? 先生,我請求你們,千萬不要再自欺欺人了。 為了阻止這場即將來臨的風暴,一切該做的都已經做了。 我們請願過,我們抗議過,我們哀求過;我們曾拜倒在英王御座前,懇成他制止國會和內閣的殘暴行徑。 可是,我們的請願受到蔑視,我們的抗議反而招致更多的鎮壓和侮辱,我們的哀求被置之不理。 我們被輕蔑地從御座邊一腳踢開了。 事到如今,我們怎麼還能沉迷於虛無縹渺的和平希望之中呢? 沒有任何希望的餘地了。 假如我們想獲得自由,並維護我們長期以來為之獻身的崇高權利,假如我們不願徹底放棄我們多年來的鬥爭,不獲全勝,決不收兵。 那麼,我們就必須戰鬥! 我再重複一遍,我們必須戰鬥! 我們只有訴諸武力,只有求助於萬軍之主的上帝。

議長先生,他們說我們太弱小了,無法抵禦如此強大的敵人。 但是我們何時才能強大起來? 是下週,還是明年? 難道要等到我們被徹底解除武裝,家家戶戶都駐紮英國士兵的時候? 難道我們猶豫遲疑、無所作為就能積聚起力量嗎? 難道我們高枕而臥,抱著虛幻的希望,待到敵人捆住了我們的千腳,就能找到有效的御敵之策了嗎? 先生們,只要我們能妥善地利用自然之神賜予我們的力量,我們就不弱小。 一旦300萬人民為了神聖的自由事業,在自己的國土上武裝起來,那麼任何敵人都無法戰勝我們,此外,我們並非孤軍作戰,公正的上帝主宰著各國的命運,他將號召朋友們為我們而戰,先生們,戰爭的勝利並非只屬於強者。 它將屬於那些機警、主動和勇敢的人們。 阿況我們已經別無選擇。 即使我們沒有骨氣,想退出戰鬥,也為時已晚。 退路已經切斷,除非甘受屈辱和奴役。 囚禁我們的咖鎖已經鑄成。 叮叮的鐐銬聲已經在波士頓草原上迴響。 戰爭已經無可避免——讓它來吧! 我重複一遍,先生,讓它來吧!

企圖使事態得到緩和是徒勞的。 各位先生可以高喊:和平! 和平! 但根本不存在和平。 戰鬥實際上已經打響。 從北方刮來的風暴將把武器的鏗鏘迴響傳到我們耳中。 我們的弟兄已經奔赴戰場! 我們為什麼還要站在這裡袖手旁觀呢? 先生們想要做什麼? 他們會得到什麼? 難道生命就這麼可貴,和平就這麼甜蜜,竟值得以鐐銬和奴役作為代價? 全能的上帝啊,制止他們這樣做吧! 我不知道別人會如何行事;至於我,不自由,毋寧死!!

Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death

No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the House. But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve. This is no time for ceremony. The questing before the House is one of awful moment to this country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery; and in proportion to the magnitude of the subject ought to be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense , I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.

Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.

I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House. Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received? Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet. Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort. I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy , in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other.

They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the British ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it is capable; but it has been all in vain. Shall we resort to entreaty and humble supplication? What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted? Let us not, I beseech you, sir, deceive ourselves. Sir, we have done everything that could be done to avert the storm which is now coming on. We have petitioned; we have remonstrated; we have supplicated; we have prostrated ourselves before the throne, and have implored its interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the ministry and Parliament. Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our supplications have been disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the foot of the throne! In vain, after these things, may we indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation. There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free-- if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending--if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained--we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us!

They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active , the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable--and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.

It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace- - but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

"never learn something not useful"

many poeple may ask such a question when they were in school, or when they were studying:

"is the cubic root useful?"
"is the log function useful?"
"what is the use of those?"


As a "angry" teacher, i will reply them like this:
"Are you useful? No, you are not useful now. you need your parents, you even cannot take care well yourself. you did not make any contribution to the society! so, you should die."

Well, you can see the point is about the time. many things are not useful when you learn it, but it does not mean it is not useful at all. you never know how and where you use it one day.

As a beinger, you have right to ask the question of useful, coz you know nothing about it and, i presume, you like to use what you learn. However, when you ask such a question, just because you want to escape from the learning of challege, then, it is no more about the usefulness of the thing, but the usefulness of yourselve.

they are not useful, as long as you are not useful.

a great people said," i never learn something not useful." he means, he can use everything his learned, and then make nothing not useful.

some guys may further say, "not everyone needs to be great". well if some "human" had this thinking, he is not human at all, "it" is a single cell organizm with "human body", i.e. it is a lower-life-form of alian, which can be wiped out from this earth without any complain.

therefore, i still teach, coz i believe they may useful some day.

蘋論:參與 6.4與 7.1上街有甚麼關連?

延續 20萬人參與 6.4集會,泛民呼籲市民 7.1上街。

香港人不是沒有頭腦、呼籲一下就會行動的民粹主義分子。 7.1上街要有上街的理由。延續 6.4若是理由的話,也要看 6.4與 7.1有甚麼關連。
參與 6.4,香港市民的目標很單純,不管我們對中國的發展是否滿意,對中央實行一國兩制是否有信心,是否覺得中共近年的施政已有改善, 6.4始終是我們心裏面的傷痕,是無法忘記的回憶。中共一日不為 6.4的定性翻案,一日不向受難者致歉,我們也只好年年參與 6.4燭光集會,年年悼念死難者。這是香港市民的良知未泯的表現。但如果說 7.1為香港爭取民主,是可以達致中國民主的第一步,又或者說要香港有民主中國才會有,因而讓 6.4與 7.1接上關連的話,那麼爭取中國實現民主的理想,對香港人來說就比較遙遠了。
7.1上街的目標也應該很單純,針對特區政府成立的紀念日,我們上街是感到需要向特區政府嗆聲,向它抗議,在過去一年,特區政府的管治太爛了,太不像話了。這使特區政府民望不斷趨下。但曾特首和特區政府並沒有改善施政的意願和具體措施,反而一味緊抱中央大腿,向中央獻媚,他不再尋求市民支持,他違反諾言拖慢 2012年政制安排,拒絕為實現普選鋪路,只是尋求賦予他權力的中央撐腰。於是有曾特首關於 6.4的見利忘義的說詞,於是有警方在 6.4夜落閘阻市民進入維園,以及出現警方大幅縮小出席人數的揑造數字,而這種揑造又十分拙劣,前廉政專員任關佩英問,警方說的 62,800人,這 800人的零頭,是怎樣點算出來的?
精明的前高官,一針見血地指出「造假的笨拙」。
一年來的劣政,包括最被詬病的花大筆公帑私聘副局政助、曼谷派機、處理外傭稅等等都不用多說了。就以最近財爺派糖來說吧,當財爺在記者會被問及何以未有措施幫助三無人士(無領綜援、毋須繳稅、無物業的貧窮戶)時,財爺卻反問記者:「有沒有甚麼好建議?」
他的回答使人覺得他的薪俸是白領了。魯迅曾說:「廚師做出一味食品來,食客就要說話,或是好,或是歹……但是,倘若廚師對着客人道:『那麼,你去做一碗來給我吃吃看!』那卻未免可笑了。」
財爺的話,正反映他不知道自己的職責所在。而從曾特首及其他高官(包括副局政助)的表現,我們相信這不是財爺一時失言,而是整個政府高官的普遍意識。
再舉最近關於金管局總裁的聘任為例,明明內定人選陳德霖已呼之欲出,但特府還要假惺惺地設立三人遴選小組,而這小組的設立和人選卻沒有公佈。當被議員質問是否已內定陳德霖才堆砌遴選小組時,署理財政司司長陳家強只是不斷重複,財政司司長有權委任金融管理專員。
事實上沒有人質疑財爺的權力,只是質疑行使權力時是否有不可告人的一面。但高官的回答就只強調「有權」,顯然高官們認為權就是一切。

這是一個甚麼政府?是否一堆不知道職責所在、只知有權在手可以濫用的高官們的俱樂部?他們也許深知道,即使有普選授權也是八年後的事,而且也知道屆時中央仍會牢牢掌握主動權;他們也知道第二個管治班子已在運作,而特府則早已拜倒在第二個管治班子之下。民選既遠,傳媒又多自我審查,民意調查可以不當回事,向中央諂媚遂成為特府彎曲的脊樑。為甚麼關於 6.4曾特首會說出那樣偏離香港民意的話?為甚麼他還厚顏說代表整體香港人的意見?為甚麼警方關於 6.4夜有這麼拙劣的謊言?原因只有一個,就是特府不再堅守一國兩制、高度自治,不再顧惜香港民意,只是一味奉迎中央。隱藏的另一個管治班子,已漸凌駕於公開的這一個管治班子之上。
如果「曾蔭權不代表我」是市民踴躍參與 6.4的原因之一,那麼爭取一個「代表我」的政府就是 7.1上街的理由。這就是 6.4與 7.1的關連性,是市民需要在 7.1上街向特府嗆聲的原因。

Dirac

Dirac was not a talkative person and of a quite literal mind, to which numerous anecdotes testify. Here is an example. In a seminar someone asked a question: “Professor Dirac, I do not understand that equation.” Dirac did not answer, so the chairman intervened and asked Dirac if he would answer the
question. To which Dirac replied: “that was not a question, it was a statement."

is it refelcting, Dirac was not tring to make his students understood?

46封求情信

油麻地天主教小學男教師持續三年與十二歲女生非法性交逾 300次,導致女生懷孕後更帶她非法墮胎!如此斯文敗類,居然有人力撐,辯方呈上的求情信達 46封之多,求情者包括校長、校監、校職員、被告教過的舊生,及舊生的家長。
46封求情信說明了甚麼呢?

且讓我們看看報章披露的求情信內容,求情者一致盛讚被告是勞心勞力、有愛心及熱誠的傑出老師,努力發掘學生的數學天份,協助學生在奧數大賽中得獎,助學生順利升讀包括皇仁及聖保羅在內的名校。校監范神父相信被告本質不壞。校長張志鴻更表示原諒及支持被告。

我們看到一個荒謬的現象,這些求情者,上至校監校長,下至師生家長,沒有一個人站在受害者的角度想想她的感受,想想這場噩夢對她一生的影響。他們只有利益衡量,沒有是非論斷。一個老師,只要有助學校提高學生升讀名校的比例,就是個本質不壞的好老師,就值得原諒及支持,就可以成為學生偶像。難怪煲呔敢大聲發表代表論,看來他決非自作多情,為了利益出賣良知,或者為了利益蒙蔽良知的人,舉目皆是。

油天是名校,這就是香港人的名校!注重,甚至可以說是只重利益教育,無視道德良知,由校職員工到學生家長價值觀畸形而一致,以利益論成敗,有利於我的,便是好人便是好事。我們的下一代,去哪兒尋找安全而健康的學校?

New service for banking

Many companies fix the salary account, which is different form empolyee's account, different bank.

So, this may cause lose of customer for bank, or a development barrier.

I suggest a new service:
For simplicity, let assume there are two banks, S and E, they are the banks hold the accounts for salary and empolyee. Now, the bank E opens an account at bank S for the customer, so, the customer dont need to take care for that account, since the account is belong to bank E, a kind of virtual account. And the customer only need to give that account back to his company.

Every month, the company gives salary to the virtual account in bank S, which is holding by bank E, then, bank E will automatically transfer those salary back to the customer account in bank E.

In the whole process, the bank E is the money holder, it can keep his customer from evacuate. And the whole process can be programed and minimized the cost.

Symmetry

When talk about symmetry, most people will think about mirror. Yes, it is a kind of symmetry for mirror image, but there are a lot more. In fact, I found that our students’ quality is so low that, they cannot be excited by unexpected things. In primary 1 or 2, we already exposed by many kind of symmetry form rotation, translation, and reflection. How come no one can remember? When I was small, I only knew the reflection symmetry. After I learned rotation and translation, this concept is printed so dark in my mind, because of unexpected.

Anyway, back to our topic. As I mentioned above, there are rotation and translation symmetry as well. For seeing why rotation can be called symmetric, we can use 2 mirrors, making an angle with each other, and then we can product “angle reflection”. For example, making the angle between the 2 mirrors be 90 degrees, we are producing a 90 degrees rotation symmetry, because the graph is “repeating” itself for every 90 degrees rotation. Moreover, because the graph repeats by 4 times, we called it as 4-fold symmetry. When we make the 2 mirror at 60 degrees apart, then we are making 6-fold symmetry. If we accept the mirror reflection is symmetry, then we must accept rotation is also symmetry.

How about Translation symmetry? Can translation symmetry be produced by mirrors? Yes, it can. If we have 3 equal mirrors, we can make a kaleidoscope. In the kaleidoscope, beside the images in the 3 corners, we can also see a repeating pattern extended to the whole space!

From above, we can see a very important concept of symmetry – repeat. More precisely, repeated after certain transform. For reflection, the pattern repeated after a reflection (reflection is a kind of transform). Patterns repeated after rotation, after translation.  

Now, we are standing on a point for a conceptual jump. If something unchanged (repeat) from time to time, then we called it has symmetry over time. Let’s take examples, you weak up every morning at 8am, then that action is translation symmetry over time. We play a movie clip and then reverse play, and then it is reflection symmetry over time. In fact, many things have translation symmetry over time. However, if you have a clock, but after a while it broken, than the clock has symmetry breaking. It is no longer symmetry over time. Therefore, in fact, we have a lot of thing has short term symmetry and only few things have truly symmetry over time.

The physical laws and constants are the only things have forever symmetry over time. 

Can any one see now? the law of conservation of momentum and energy is just from the symmetry. From a lot experience, we believe our univerise is governed by a set of symmetry law.

for a deep understanding of symmetry, reader should study the Group theory. Group means, inside a group, every memeber share the same symmetry porperties.

the 7 points

4月17日,學生開始聚集在天安門廣場。當天下午,第一支遊行隊伍、中國政法大學法律系約500名學生在人民大會堂東門舉行悼念活動,過程中警察未能驅散群眾,當晚廣場上已經聚集上千人,除了政法大學學生外,還有其他高校學生和普通市民增援。翌日凌晨,約3,000人學生從北京大學前往天安門,沿途近千名清華大學學生加入。清晨,數百名學生在人民大會堂前靜坐,要求人大常委接見,並向常委提交請願信,提出7點要求:

一,重新評價胡耀邦同志的是非功過,肯定其民主、自由、寬鬆、和諧的觀點;

二,徹底否定清除精神污染和反對資產階級自由化,對蒙受不白之冤的知識分子給予平反;

三,國家領導人及其家屬年薪及一切形式的收入向人民公開,反對貪官污吏

四,允許民間辦報,解除報禁,實行言論自由

五,增加教育經費,提高知識分子待遇;

六,取消北京市政府制定的關於遊行示威的「十條」規定;

七,要求政府領導人就政府失誤向全國人民作出公開檢討,並通過民主形式對部份領導實行改選
